Project Payday My ‘Paid 2 Click’ Experement

I’m still one of those people who believes that making money on the internet is not dead. Theres gotta be money still out there to be made. As of yet I have not seen any. When legit online businesses and web 2.0 ventures seem a little too common, one of the oldest ways to make money on the internet is through a referral program. A ‘Paid to Click’ site is a style of referral program where you recieve a few cents to click on advertisements. As you aquire money in an account you opt to cash out into a Pay Pal account. The more referrals you get the more money you make because it works like a pyramid where everyone is working under you and so on. The hard part is getting those referrals. I signed up yesterday to Neobux.com. The cool thing about these guys is, they let you ‘rent’ out referrals, for a small fee and you can directly transfer all money made into your pay pal account. These referrals are active members who then intern work under you, but everyones getting paid because everyones clicking. Interested in signing up!? Go here use this link put me down as your referral. Username Gorteks. I call this experiment Project Payday. I will report my progress/findings in 1 month.

ABC’s LOST!!! TONIGHT’S ‘EPIC’SODE (*SPOILERS INSIDE*)

Hey guys, do you like exotic islands? Polar bears, time travel, secret hatches, bizzare research laboratories, shadow conspiracy groups, and a mysterious mosnter made of smoke?..Thats right. So, have you seen Lost yet? If not, stop reading because listen…This show is special. It’s like a gift. Go Netflix and watch every episode in sequence or watch on ABC.com, then try and catch this season airing now!!

***SPOILERS AHEAD***

Thank you to the TV gods for this show. In its 5th season now. WOW…possibly one of the best episodes so far this season! There was A LOT of questions answered in tonight’s episode “This Place Is Death” and even more left  unanswered!! The storytelling is moving along now, thank God and we still have questions like:

So we now know the FDW was skipping and possibly causing the survivors to skip along the islands timeline. The Smoke Monster returns!!..and the temple is its home!? (Memory jog: Remember when Ben sent his people there and said it was the last safe place on the island?) Jin regroups with the remaining survivors! Hell yea…a big moment. The standoff between Sun and Benjamin? Dope scene. Jacks Dad makes an apearence infront of Locke!! Is he a ghost or is he Jacob!? Why doesn’t Rousseau recognize Jin in the first season if they had met in the past? Mind fuck. Even more crazy..so that lady in the church turns out to be Faraday’s mom. (Remember she wouldn’t sell Desmond the ring in the jewlery shop.)WTF?!

-> In General, I still want to know these things: <-

  • Did Ben actually move the island in space as well as time at the end of season 4?
  • What is the smoke monster?
  • How do they return? What is their method of travel and why must all of the survivors, including Aaron go? I think this will be reveled in the next episode.
  • Does everyone return? If not time/history/future will not work can they save
  • How does Locke return, where does he arrive when he gets back, how does he die? Betcha Faradays mother ices him.
  • The numbers?
  • Who placed the FDW on the island.
  • What is the cause of the islands power?

If anyone can shed light or have conspiracy theories to add please, leave a comment.

Another thing i like about Lost is its participation with the fan community in its AR games and viral marketing. I came across one tonight for : http://www.ajiraairways.com
I think its one of the latest ones. I am aware of the others that are tied to the show.

I think this might be the beginning of a mandatory ”Lost Wedsday” post…well see.

Village Skateboards & DeckPeck!

Deckpeck is this cool site that allows designers to upload artwork and sell skateboards, wheels, t-shirts etc. The site is pretty cool where it provides the venue to automate the process for taking and filling orders when a customer places an order.

Check out the skateboard company I put up called Village. An homage to the East Village and Thompkins Sq. park, NYC a.k.a. my hood. Buy some shit. http://village.deckpeck.com/

Fable 2 Review!

This past week I nerded out on Fable 2 for Xbox 360 and beat the game within 4 days. I really dug the whole experience and kind of sucked me in a great bit. The art style of environments was really beautiful, full of lush forests and beautiful vistas. Sometimes I just stoped to observe the sun setting in the distance.

The game is role-playing style with a bit of The Sims elements mixed in. You have complete control over how you want to go about completing objectives and the choices you make affects story developments and how characters perceive you ain the game. For example, a thriving towns economy can suffer if you become a land baron jacking up housing and business prices or, simply murder innocent people.  But if you put money into the towns, and save people from bandits etc. they will praise you and give you discounts at their stores because you have fame. You can also manipulate people by talking to them into giving you things or money and marry women and buy a home lol. This is also the first game ive come across that you can buy condoms in and offers you the choice to have protected or unprotected sex. Yes, you can catch an STD or have kids. Crazy.

Mut my favorite part about the whole game is the dog. The dog is your best friend. He seeks out burried treasure, and finds treasure for you. He is not annoying, the AI is well done with this and, its great watching the dog running in front of you when you are sprinting.

My only beef with it is the loading screens. God they where annoying.

Uncle Ben Does Pop Art!!

Who does this!? Crazy. I was in Baltimore last weekend and I noticed some amazing outdoor billboards. Uncle Ben’s face pasted over repeated background of box art. At first i believed it was a teaser for something bigger but, as I came across other versions of the ads I realized this was the campaign!  How progressive. Its cool to see brands doing this kind of advertising. This is a good use of brand connecting with the consumer on an emotional level. No tagline, no body copy..just Ben. Seeing these sparks a feeling within the consumer and evokes feelings of tradition. Thats exactly what you need. I could see this working well with other brands i.e. Aunt Jemima, Quaker Oats, Farina, etc. Very cool.

Video: Kanye - Champion

Kanye is always doing creative stuff with his videos. I like how hes having fun with this one, not serious.. just fun. Such a good way to get into the Olympic spirit. The video is basically Kanye (puppet) training for an olympic 100m dash, then it shows him racing and winning the gold. The while thing is corny and funny as hell. Kanye has been doing some really funny stuff lately with the Be Kanye subway ads, and now this video.

My Hood

I live in the East Village. It has been so nice outside these past few weeks and walking outside on my block I realize how lucky I am to live here. You got Thompkins Square right there and a bunch of cool shops. Mud Coffee, Autumn Skateboards, Giant Robot, Neighborhood Barbershop. I like how my street (9th) is one of the few that has a lot of trees. Its a great street to hangout on the fire escape or roof during the summer and just chillll.

A New City Guide

I stumbled across this site called anewcityguide.com and was just stuck there…mesmerized, just by it’s front page (keep refreshing). Feels like you’re in an airplane looking down out the window at cities & landscapes. What a fresh use of google maps!!! That’s nice art-direction right there. Anyway, A New City Guide is a site that lists cool hotspots from around the world in a dope navigation. Each city has a list of contributers in the creative industry who submit the locations. Every destination has a description, event callendars, directions locations and are marked on the map.
